A new collection from conceptualising, sampling to shoot day typically takes well over two years.
Getting Ready for a Shoot
Models
A big part of bringing our vision to life is casting the right models to represent Mavi.
Part of that process is contacting agencies and having available models come in for fittings. Here's a look at some photos from our male casting.
Scouting Locations
A week out from shoot we went to the studio and had a look at the surrounding areas. At Mavi, we love an outside shot with a neutral background - so we had a walk around to see what areas we could use to our advantage.
Moodboards
We wanted to get some lifestyle shots in a few pieces from Mavi's Spring/Summer 2022 collection. To quickly get through these shots, creating a moodboard is such essential! A moodboard gives the photographer and model a visual idea of what look we're going for and makes it a lot easier to get 'the shot'.
On Set
Once the final collection is chosen, team Mavi pre-styles every single look that will be shot. From clothing, to shoes to accessories to hair and makeup - we pre-plan it all. In this shoot we had over 45 outfits - it takes an army to get it all ready and photographed.
While outfits are being shot, two members of Mavi sit at the computers and choose our "selects" which will go on to be enhanced and eventually used on our website!
